This seems like a perfect opportunity to get the hallamshire kit out for those of us that have it.

We could have a stab at doing line inf for this one.

If we pool kit we should have enough to get most of us there as line inf.

Ideal kit would be:
37 or 40 pattern trousers and jacket.
MKII steel helmet, cap comforter or cap GS
37 pat webbing
Jerkins
Windproofs

Denims would be acceptable as would khaki or black berets as headress (representing recce corp)

I will have a spare jerkin, size 13 BD blouses and a gs cap for those who might need to borrow bits.

I dunno rich the info put up inplies its about the journey to arnhem and XXX corp. DOesnt mention Airborne once.

Surely if it was all of market garden (which IMO is a monumentally shit idea as its such a vast operation) then they would have called it 'market garden' and if it was about the airborne in arnhem it would be just 'arnhem'.

I dont think you can feasibly do a market garden game with all three elements of the allies bieng there without it becoming farcical as the whole point is that xxx corp never met up with the airborne and that US and UK airborne were never nearer than 30 miles or so!

Yeah exactly which is why a 'hells highway' game makes loads of sense and a free for all Arnhem game makes none.

well i am up for it, but i think getting hundreds of allied vehicles might be a bit tricky,,,,,, seriously, why not work around a small us airbornre force being the objective ,british moving through german held territory to them, as they move towards the british?

This is what I got from Justin at F&O

Hi Rich

you will form part of the push through to Arnhem bridge, as part of operation Market.
securing the road from anti armour defences, we will want pioneers for the destruction of the defences who will be issued with satchel charges?

hope this is of some use? Mick is sorting scenario in more depth if you need anything else mate you can email him on mickpatchett@aol.com,

cheers
Justin

oh and it's NWE, so most definitely blancoed webbing.

Yeah stupid isn't it.

2 WWII events on the same day at sites run by the same people.

Some heads need banging together

Its two games run by people who should be cooperating.

One side or the other needs to reschedule... I don't care which one.

I've half a mind to boycott both unless this is sorted out.

Its bad for all involved.
